TrueBlue's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy

Steven C. Cooper is the Chief Executive Officer for TrueBlue, Inc., North America’s leading provider of blue-collar staffing. TrueBlue is the parent company for Labor Ready, Spartan Staffing, CLP Resources, PlaneTechs, TransTechs, Centerline and PTS.

The success of our company is a reflection of the quality and capability of our people. I wholeheartedly affirm this commitment and want to announce our newest journey — the implementation of a formal diversity and inclusion strategy at TrueBlue.

In today’s world, it is not enough to employ a workforce with varying backgrounds and views. We also need to welcome the differing experiences and perspectives we all bring when we work together. Embracing diversity and fostering an environment of inclusion brings out the best in everyone and delivers optimal results to our stakeholders. 

Our definition of diversity is broad and encompasses what makes each one of us unique. Of course, diversity includes traditionally recognized categories such as race, gender, ethnicity, age, religion, sexual orientation, veteran’s status and disability. With that said, our definition of diversity also comprises diversity of thought, individual talent and the distinctive perspectives that accompany our identity. Having true diversity means we understand and appreciate that each person can contribute somethingdifferent to our company, whether it is a learned talent or the empathy that comes with life experience.

As TrueBlue’s Chief Executive Officer, I am committed to fostering, recognizing and embracing the diversity that our employees and others bring to TrueBlue. I expect each of us to cultivate an environment of inclusion where each person is valued and everyone is encouraged to contribute, learn and grow as we strive to serve each other and our customers.

We are committed to developing strategies and processes that equip our leaders with the ability to achieve and maintain diversity in their areas. All these efforts will help to institutionalize a culture of inclusion and accountability.

To help identify opportunities and guide us in our efforts, I have chartered a cross-enterprise Diversity & Inclusion Council.
