- It's just a temp job. Think about it, isn't all construction "temporary"? Jobs end when projects are completed. When you work for CLP, we find work for you and keep you working, project to project.
- Only "desperate" tradespeople work for CLP. We only hire tradespeople who can complete our rigorous hiring process. Many of our tradespeople are Journey- and apprentice-level workers, and all of our employees have one thing in common: they take pride in their work.

- I'll make more money working directly for a contractor. Our pay scale is competitive with the area’s top contractors. We also offer opportunities to work on Prevailing Wage jobs. We're at work every day to make sure you have work every day. When the project is completed, you still have a job with us.
- CLP doesn't offer benefits. On the contrary - our benefits include a group health plan with medical, hospital, vision, dental, short-term disability and life insurance. We also offer personal time off and safety incentives.
- Staffing companies don't offer retirement plans. We're proud to offer a 401(k) retirement plan you can participate in after one year of service and 1,000 life service hours within that year.
- I need to work every day - I can't afford to work temp. Our job is to keep you busy, with no gaps in your work, project to project. But, when you work for CLP you also have the flexibility to work fewer hours if you choose.
- Contractors really know their business. CLP staff won't understand me or give me work that fits my skills. CLP has been in the construction staffing business since 1987. We learn about your skills, interests and strengths so we can match you with work you'll enjoy and do well.
- I'll get no respect from the super and my coworkers on the jobsite when they find out I'm from CLP. We maintain excellent relationships with all our customers - many of them rely on us for all their jobs. You'll get to know them and they'll get to know you. And, if you find you don't connect with the super or crew, just let us know and we'll work to reassign you right away.

- Working for CLP is something people do short-term; it's not a permanent job. It’s true that CLP assignments may vary in length, but your employment with us is regular. Roughly half of our tradespeople have been with us more than a year, and 30% for more than two years.
- I don't want to go to a different jobsite or a new job every day. With us, it's not uncommon for our assignments to last for months, although some are just for a few days or weeks. We work with you to find jobs that meet your needs and skills. And, if you find yourself on a job that isn't a good match, you're not stuck there - we'll work to reassign you.
